Nevada GOP Congressional Nominee Cody K Whipple Urges Prioritization of American Beef

Republican Congressional Nominee and fourth-generation Nevadan Cody K Whipple released the following statement today urging the federal government to prioritize American ranchers and cattle producers over foreign beef imports.

“My family’s ranch-raised beef has carried Age, Source, and All-Natural certifications for over 20 years. It is about time all consumers know exactly where their beef is coming from. Importing 300,000 tons of foreign beef isn’t helping American ranchers; it undercuts the hard work and high standards of local producers,” said Whipple.

“We need to focus on smart alternatives, like heifer retention to rebuild our herds, or crossing yearlings from Canada and Mexico to be raised on American soil and processed by American packers. That keeps the economic benefit right here at home,” Whipple stated.

A lifelong rancher, Whipple noted that American producers pride themselves on raising hormone- and antibiotic-free cattle, a standard that foreign imports often cannot match.

“American beef producers take immense pride in our product; I believe the consumer needs to be the true beneficiary of the hard work and care American ranchers put in every day,” Whipple concluded. “When we prioritize American beef, we prioritize the health, safety, and economic prosperity of the American family.”
